Commission: Producing for Radio Since 1975!
Ravenhill Road Studio
The Early Days: In September 1975, communication mission, "COMMISSION" was launched. A house on Belfast's Ravenhill Road was used to record period Bible dramas, occasionally featuring distant buses and lorries! Equipment was limited and technology primitive, yet programmes were produced and shipped from this studio to dozens of radio stations around the globe!

'The Bunker' Millar Street

The Bunker: In 1981 COMMISSION moved to one of Belfast's old World War II air-raid shelters in Millar Street!
Developers had bulldozed most bomb shelters, but this one had survived. 'The Bunker' was ideal, providing 1500 square feet of floor space and with half-metre (18 inch) thick walls and roof, making it almost fully soundproofed!

Expansion: Up to 1981 we only had one large studio, but in 1985 it was decided to build two additional studios inside the existing building while updating our equipment.
However it was the new millenium that was to drop the bombshell on the Bunker! Our landlords planned to sell up to developers and we were told our long-term future there was no longer secure.
